Job Summary

The Facilities Associate is responsible for the presentation of The Table Church’s buildings and grounds.  They perform routine cleaning and maintenance, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors; dusting; washing walls, door and windows; and emptying trash.  Performs room set-ups and moving fixtures and supplies. Performs minor maintenance and repairs, assisting service personnel as required.  Reports major repair and maintenance needs and assists with snow removal.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform effective cleaning and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to:
    • Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and polishing floors.
    • Washing and dusting walls, tables, doors, light fixtures and windows.
    • Cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing, and supplying restroom facilities, including but not limited to toilets, urinals, sinks, changing tables, and floors, ensuring all restrooms are appropriately stocked with soaps, sanitizers, paper towels, and toilet paper.
    • Empty trash containers, ensuring cleanliness.
    • Ensuring that buildings and grounds are maintained and presentable:
    • Walking the interior and exterior of facilities picking up litter as necessary.
    • Pulling weeds.
    • Straightening and organizing furniture and fixtures.
    • Manage room set-up for special events, meetings and holidays, as directed:
    • Moving and arranging furniture.
    • Ensuring appropriate equipment is available within each room.
    • Assist with various landscaping projects, as needed.
    • Complete snow removal when required.
  • Maintaining security as required:
    • Ensuring that building is secure.
    • Reporting any maintenance concerns, area activities and significant issues to management.
  • Assist church personnel and service providers, as needed.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Hours

  • Average 10-20 hours per week, average 3-5 days per week, evenings and weekends.
  • Flexible hours throughout the week for other job responsibilities ensuring that facilities are in a clean, first class appearance in coordination with church activity schedules and calendars.

 

Qualifications

  • Commitment to Facility Stewardship:
    • Demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility for maintaining and enhancing the church’s physical environment as a reflection of its mission and vision.
    • Experience in janitorial, custodial, maintenance or similar position, preferred.
    • Willingness to learn. 
  • Knowledge of: 
    • Methods, materials and equipment used in custodial work. 
    • Safe work practices, including proper handling and storage of cleaning products. 
    • Some work with computers, including email and a timekeeping app.
  • Ability to: 
    • Clean & Care for assigned areas and equipment
    • Learn to use a variety of custodial equipment, supplies & materials.
    • Lift, Push, or Pull fifty (50) pounds.
    • Operate and perform minor maintenance repairs.
    • Work independently in the absence of supervision.
    • Understand and follow oral and written directions. 
    • Establish and maintain effective and courteous relationships with those contacted in course of work.
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
    • Model behavior and actions consistent with core values of the church.
Salary Description
$12/hour
