Position Title: Utility Construction Laborer

Position Summary
Join a crew that builds the infrastructure communities rely on every day. As an Underground Utility Construction Laborer, you’ll work hands-on installing and replacing critical water and sewer systems while supporting a skilled field team. This is an active, outdoor role for individuals who take pride in hard work, value safety, and want to be part of a team that gets the job done right.
What You'll Do
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground water and sewer utilities
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites
- Install and remove water and sewer mains in accordance with plans and specifications
- Read and interpret construction drawings and instructions to perform work accurately
- Drive company vehicles to job sites in compliance with DOT requirements
- Perform traffic control and flagging to maintain safe job site conditions
- Follow all safety procedures and report incidents as required
- Travel to project sites throughout Michigan as needed
Compensation
- Compensation is based on the applicable union scale, with opportunities for higher starting pay based on experience.
- Minimum Starting Pay: $31.66/hour (includes $2.00/hour CDL Premium) ($27.66/hour base wage + $4.00/hour vacation pay (taxable)

What We’re Looking For
- Valid CDL-A Driver’s License
- Strong work ethic and team-first mindset
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening, participate in random drug testing, and maintain a satisfactory driving record (MVR)
