We are seeking a Software Architect / Lead Developer who brings deep technical expertise, proven leadership, and hands-on experience building scalable, secure web systems in a team environment. This is not a title-only role. We are looking for someone who has actually led projects, mentored developers, and made architectural decisions that shaped real products.


Position Overview

The Software Architect / Lead Developer is responsible for designing system architecture, guiding technical direction, and leading a team of developers through the full project lifecycle. This role requires strong architectural thinking, clear communication, and the ability to coordinate work across multiple contributors and departments.


What You Will Do

· Lead architectural design and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs

· Work directly with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into actionable technical plans

· Oversee and approve project scope, timelines, and deliverables

· Delegate work effectively and ensure consistent code quality across the team

· Develop clean, efficient, maintainable code and enforce best practices

· Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and proofs of concept

· Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and code

· Provide mentorship, guidance, and onboarding support for new team members

· Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance engineering culture


Required Skills & Experience

Candidates must meet all of the following to be considered:


Technical Expertise

· Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web application patterns

· Deep understanding of authentication, session management, and state handling in distributed systems

· Strong experience with MySQL database design, optimization, scalability, and high availability

· Hands-on experience with Docker/Kubernetes in production or near-production environments

· Solid experience with source control and versioning workflows (Git)


Leadership & Delivery

· 2–3 years of real project leadership experience, including cross-department coordination

· Demonstrated ability to manage scope, timelines, and developer workloads

· Experience working in larger teams (4+ developers) with shared codebases and structured processes

· Proven ability to mentor, review code, and guide technical decisions


Background

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

· 5–7 years of professional software development experience

What Will Set You Apart

· Experience designing secure authentication flows or multi-tenant systems

· Prior work in regulated or high-complexity industries

· Demonstrated architectural ownership of a major system or product

· Experience improving engineering processes, standards, or team practices
