Description

This is a frontend-leaning full-stack role (~60% frontend, 40% backend) for an SDE II level engineer who enjoys building user-facing experiences while contributing across the stack.

We’re looking for a Software Engineer II to join our growing Educate team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities:

  • Build and ship user-facing experiences in the Medbridge web app, partnering closely with Product and Design to deliver polished, intuitive workflows.
  • Take ownership of frontend implementation details: component design, state management, routing, forms, error states, and maintainable patterns.
  • Contribute to a consistent UI by evolving our reusable component library / design system (documentation, usage patterns, and shared components).
  • Ensure features are fast, accessible, and reliable—with attention to performance, responsiveness, and cross-browser behavior.
  • Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews, helping the team raise quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers on API contracts and integrations, and contribute to backend services when needed to support frontend delivery.
  • Help deliver product features that may incorporate AI-powered capabilities, integrating AI-backed endpoints into the UI under senior guidance.
  • Participate in technical discussions, share learnings, and contribute to improving our engineering practices as the team grows.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience, with exposure to SaaS applications and web applications .
  • Strong experience building production-quality UIs with JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern framework (we use Angular; experience in React/Vue is fine with willingness to learn Angular).
  • Solid understanding of HTML/CSS fundamentals, responsive layout, and building accessible experiences.
  • Experience implementing web application features end-to-end, including integrating with APIs and third-party services.
  • Working knowledge of frontend testing (unit/integration) and familiarity with end-to-end testing approaches/tools.
  • Able to contribute to backend code (we use Go and PHP) and understanding how backend services support frontend product experiences.
  • Familiarity with relational databases like MySQL and the ability to reason about data models and query patterns.
  • Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS/GCP/Azure) and basic understanding of containers (e.g., Docker) is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills—you work well with cross-functional partners and enjoy building as a team.
  • Interest in using modern developer tools (including AI-assisted tooling like Copilot/Cursor) to move faster while maintaining high quality.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with design systems, Storybook, or building reusable component libraries.
  • Experience with performance profiling, Core Web Vitals, or client-side observability.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000

At Medbridge, salary ranges are assigned to a job based on 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within this range is informed by the candidate's skills, capabilities and experience.
