Reporting to the CFO, the Controller has overall responsibility for the Accounting/Reporting and the Accounts Receivable functions within the Finance department. The Controller establishes internal controls and oversees the day-to-day activities of the functions assigned. The Controller prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company's financial status, oversees auditing, and assists with budgeting within the organization. 


Oversee the activities of the Accounting Department which includes but is not limited to:

  • Accounting and Reporting 
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable 
  • Inventory management 
  • Taxes and Auditing 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Accurately produces all financial statements for the company and its affiliates 
  • Maintains the integrity of all financial statements and proactively addresses concerns with CFO 
  • Produces and manages balance sheets
  • Assesses aging within the AR, identifies and corrects potential concerns in revenue cycle management
  • Oversee disbursement activities, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, employee expense reports, cash control, payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance including quarterly and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports, W2’s, etc.
  • Establishes and assures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and maintains a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Manages all aspects of the general ledger
  • Performs monthly/annual financial closings and financial reporting, GL reconciliations, cash management, and project reporting as needed
  • Serves as a liaison and assists external auditors
  • Coordinates with the CFO and other members of the finance team to review financial information
  • Assures corporate income tax compliance and the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns
  • Manage multiple projects at any given time
  • Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping confidential information


The Controller directly supervises employees working in the Finance Department including Accountants and Accounts Payable personnel. The Controller also oversees Accounts Receivable through the supervision of the Revenue Cycle Manager. 

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field, or equivalent work experience is required 
  • Applicants who also have an accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA) are preferred 
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and stays current on trends and practices 
  • Understands the nuances of running accounts receivable in a healthcare environment, preferably in DME
  • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant industry experience is required 
  • Advanced Excel
  • Advanced experience with Quickbooks
  • Experience with Brightree or willingness to learn new software platforms
  • Experience with inventory cost analysis and management of COGS
  • Demonstrated project management skills 
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10 office systems
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives

Salary and Benefits

  • This is a full-time role with benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401k, sick, vacation and holidays
  • This position is remote; core business/working hours are Pacific Standard. The role may include travel, including overnights to our Headquarters in San Diego, CA
  • The salary range is $130,000-$160,000/year depending on experience; there is an annual maximum bonus potential of $20,000.00 depending on business and personal performance

Salary Description
$130,000-$160,000/year + bonus
