Description

Essential Functions

  • Answers in coming emails and telephone calls from users, physicians and patients.
  • Supports the following systems to include but not limited to: Epic Ambulatory, EpicCare EHR, Epic’s Patient Portal – MyChart, MedAptus, SharePoint and athenaIDX - Scheduling/Registration Calls.
  • Provides system support to physicians, support staff, and patients to include retraining, problem identification and work flow review.  
  • Analyzes workflow and determines the best methods for automating the office processes. 
  • Responsible for the testing for upgrades and new functionality. Assists with application and integrated system testing. This includes testing and review of new documentation.
  • Maintains Work Queues and error logs.
  • Provide support to Clinical Informatics Director/Assistant Director. 
  • Maintain and Monitor CI In Basket folders and Chart correction cases.
  • On a daily basis, processes the following reports: EKG Charge and Reassigning of EKGs. Processing LRH discharges included accessing LRH’s EHR (Cerner) to determine the discharge orders, notifying the office and Call Center for appropriate follow up with the patient.
  • Adheres to guidelines set by the Clinic’s Compliance Program, following all Health Care Regulatory Laws on patient documentation. Maintains confidentiality of clinic materials.  
Requirements

Required Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent required.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Two-year degree from an accredited college or university is preferred 
  • Epic EHR or comparable EHR experience
  • Proficient in MS Office tools
  • Preferred One-year experience in an Ambulatory setting. 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology in multiple specialties
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision, with the ability to exercise judgement and discretion.
