Overview
The RV Paint & Body Technician is responsible for performing high-quality body repairs, refinishing, and cosmetic restoration on recreational vehicles of all sizes. This role combines technical skill, craftsmanship, and attention to detail to ensure every RV leaves the shop looking its best. The ideal candidate is experienced in automotive or RV bodywork, comfortable working with large vehicles, and committed to delivering exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform body repairs including dent removal, fiberglass repair, panel replacement, and structural cosmetic work.
- Prep RV surfaces for paint, including sanding, masking, priming, and sealing.
- Mix and apply paint using proper techniques to achieve color match and factory-quality finishes.
- Repair and refinish fiberglass, gel coat, aluminum, and composite materials.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and customer expectations are met.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Operate tools and equipment such as spray guns, sanders, grinders, welders, and paint-mixing systems.
- Document repair processes and communicate progress with service advisors or management.
- Follow all safety procedures and comply with shop policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience in automotive, RV, marine, or heavy-equipment paint and body repair.
- Strong knowledge of paint systems, refinishing techniques, and surface preparation.
- Ability to work with fiberglass, aluminum, and composite materials.
- Skilled in color matching, blending, and finishing.
- Ability to lift and maneuver large parts and work on elevated surfaces.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with RV-specific construction and materials.
- Familiarity with gel coat repair and refinishing.
- Welding or fabrication experience.
- Knowledge of industry-standard estimating systems (e.g., CCC, Mitchell) is a bonus.
Work Environment
- Full-time position in a shop environment.
- Requires standing, bending, lifting, and working with tools and chemicals.
- May involve working outdoors or in large service bays depending on RV size.

Flag Hour; $30-$50 based on Experience
