Job Summary:

The Stamping Set-Up Operator will produce stamped parts by operating a stamping press; maintaining quality and safety standards; and keeping records.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs set-ups of stamping presses ranging from 45 tons to 440 tons using Standard Work Procedures, work instructions, and machine-controlled software (SmartPAC & CIECO Servo Pro for press controls; COE & CHS for feed lines); performs set-ups in a minimum amount of time.
  • Verifies the status of the tooling before beginning the set-up process; safely retrieves and returns tooling to the storage area using the proper technique.
  • Simultaneously runs a minimum of two primary machines; responsible for quality and quantity of products being manufactured; demonstrates ability to proficiently operate multiple primary machines.
  • Performs all material handling duties required to keep a job productive; safely retrieves materials and returns the unused coil/wire stock to the storage areas using an electric hand-cart or fork truck.
  • Operates stamping press and      other machinery in a safe manner.
  • Maintains excellent housekeeping practices.
  • Maintains 6S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) standards in all work stations.

· Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

  • Uncontrolled environmental conditions: noise, dust, dirt, and mobile equipment.
  • Routine, repetitive lifting up to 35 lbs., occasional, heavy lifting, and pushing / pulling 10 lbs. regularly, 1 to 10 hours per day.
  • Any combination of standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, feeling, and walking 8 to 10 hours per day.
  • Ability to work up to 8-10 hour shifts and overtime as required by the work.
  • Use of all limbs, dexterous and steady use of hands and arms for long periods of time.
  • Simultaneous mental and muscular coordination, visual and audio awareness of surrounding area.
