Description

Position Summary

The Painter – STEEL role is responsible for priming and painting finished fabrication products to meet quality standards and prepare them for installation. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate paint inventory records, comply with regulatory requirements, and assist in final quality control before shipping. Shift: Monday – Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (8-hour shift)


Essential Job Functions and Tasks- These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

· Prime and paint fabricate steel sign components according to specifications.

· Ensure proper surface preparation and application techniques for durability and appearance.

· Track paint usage and maintain inventory logs.

· Document and report paint-related data for regulatory compliance.

· Assist Fabrication Manager with final quality checks.

· Verify sign inventory accuracy prior to shipment.

· Follow all safety protocols for handling paints, solvents and equipment.

· Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Work Environment

This work environment is a spray booth with moderate noise and outdoors in all weather conditions. 


Physical Demands

Physical Exertion: The incumbent may be required to lift approximately 100 pounds without restrictions or limitations. Ability to stand for extended periods. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to paint fumes and noise.

Vision: The incumbent must possess close, midrange, distance, and peripheral vision; as well as the ability to identify colors, judge distances and adjust focus. 

Speaking/Hearing: The incumbent must be able to give and receive information through speaking and listening. 

Motor Coordination: The incumbent in this position is frequently required to: use their hands and reach with their hands and arms. The incumbent is periodically required to: sit. The incumbent is occasionally required to: stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch or bend. 


Required Education and Experience

High school diploma (or equivalent) is required.

Previous experience in industrial painting or similar manufacturing environment preferred.

Knowledge of paint application techniques and safety standards


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to read and interpret work orders and specifications

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.

Basic knowledge of fabrication and shop processes.

Salary Description
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
