Description

An Assistant Behavior Analyst blends the role of a mid-tier supervisor role with a direct therapy provider. This position requires Board Certification as a BCaBA from the BACB or QASP-S from QABA. The Assistant Behavior Analyst provides one-to-one behavioral health interventions to children between the ages of 2-21 years old with autism or related disorders and  supervises Behavior Techs, provides caregiver training to families, and assists with assessments while receiving supervision from a BCBA.

This position requires in-person work with clients at least 4 days/week, with client sessions varying in length and location within Centre County. Indirect work may be completed from home as needed. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Caseload Services and Oversight 

  • Carry an assigned caseload of 4-5 clients requiring in-person clinical oversight in a three-tiered therapy model
  • Conduct assessments including Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, ABAS-3, and other tools as clinically indicated, with oversight from BCBA.
  • Assist in the development and updating of  individualized treatment plans (ITPs). Disseminate ITP updates to the treatment team.
  • Review client data and session documentation regularly and make treatment modifications as needed.
  • Write and review session notes, IBHS supervision notes, and clinical documentation.
  • Provide face-to-face behavioral interventions and implement Individualized Treatment Plans (ITP) when providing direct services.

Supervision, Training & Clinical Leadership

  • Provide direct supervision and training to Direct Therapists (RBTs, BHTs, ABCs) as assigned
  • Plan and lead group supervision and individual supervision according to Pennsylvania's IBHS-ABA Regulations
  • Conduct in-person and telehealth supervision sessions, observations, and provide competency-based feedback.
  • Provide caregiver training/guidance and communicate clinical needs with treatment teams as needed
  • Implement integrity checks to Direct Therapists to address clinical or procedural needs
  • Collaborate with Lead BCBA and Supervising BCBA as needed

Collaboration & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Attend scheduled supervision and leadership meetings, meeting with Clinical Director(s) and/or Lead BCBA at least 6 hours per month and for at least 5% of billable hours per certification requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical decision-making in accordance with HIPAA, Pennsylvania IBHS-ABA regulations, and Certification Board.

TRAVEL

  • This position requires travel up to 20% of the time with clients being no more than 40 minutes from Hummingbird’s office, unless specifically agreed upon. Travel between clients is paid, non-billable time.

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE 

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in ABA or related field with at least 12 credits of ABA coursework at the graduate level 
  • Certification as a BCaBA through the BACB or QASP-S through QABA
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in Pennsylvania within the IBHS-ABA field

  • Ability to read and analyze treatment plans. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries regarding clients and / or families. 
  • Ability to document data and effectively consult with the lead clinician both verbally and in writing. Ability to transfer skills to the caregivers. 
  • Ability to analyze behavioral data, identify trends, and recommend appropriate treatment modifications.
  • Ability to apply clinical judgment to complex situations and draw data-based conclusions.
  • Ability to use basic mathematical and analytical skills relevant to data interpretation and progress monitoring.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information in compliance with HIPAA and IBHS requirements.

Salary Description
$48,000-$52,000
