 POSITION OVERVIEW 


Clover Basin Animal Hospital is a locally, privately owned, state of the art hospital committed to providing superlative urgent and general care services since 2021. We place a strong emphasis on providing industry leading surgical and dental services for our patients, while also focusing on preventative and wellness care. Veterinary Technicians work collaboratively with the rest of the medical team, and under the direct supervision of the veterinarian(s), to execute excellent medical care, maintain proper medical records, and provide superior customer service.  


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist in the performance of a variety of technical and client education duties that facilitate the work of the veterinarian(s): 
  • Proper and humane animal handling and restraint techniques for dogs and cats 
  • Proper documentation and maintenance of patient medical records  
  • Client education on various topics such as dental care, behavior, nutrition, etc. 
  • Biological sample acquisition, including venipuncture, cystocentesis, fecal sample, ear and skin cytologies 
  • Anesthesia induction, endotracheal intubation and anesthesia monitoring 
  • Surgical preparation of patients 
  • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography 
  • Obtain diagnostic quality digital radiographs 
  • Preparation and interpretation of fecal, blood/cytology, and urine samples 
  • Ability to administer medication IM, IV, SC, PO 
  • In collaboration with the Hospital Manager and Lead Veterinary Technician, provide training to technician assistants and new-hires as needed 
  • Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and checking patients in and out as needed in the absence of the dedicated Client Service Representative

Requirements

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES  

  • High school diploma or GED  
  • 2+ years of experience working in-role as a veterinary technician or assistant 
  • Proven efficiency and time-management skills, as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while still having a keen attention to detail 
  • Professional, reliable and punctual 
  • Proven customer service and client communication, including ensuring client satisfaction at all times 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES 

  • RVT preferred but not required (will substitute experience working in-role as a veterinary technician in a clinical/hospital setting) 
Salary Description
$22-$28/hr
