Construction Project Manager
Description

Southwest Building Solutions is a fast-growing design-build contractor specializing in custom metal and specialty structures across Arizona. We handle projects from early planning and permitting through sitework, concrete, and final construction — all under one roof.

We’re looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager who wants real ownership, clear processes, and the ability to run jobs the right way — not chase chaos.

This role is for someone who knows how to manage people, schedules, and numbers, and who takes pride in delivering clean, well-run projects.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As a Project Manager, you’ll own projects from handoff to closeout. That means:

Preconstruction & Planning
• Review sales proposals, plans, and scopes before projects kick off
• Identify risks early and help set realistic schedules and expectations
• Coordinate permitting, site prep, and trade sequencing

Field Execution
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field crews
• Conduct site visits and ensure work is executed to plan, schedule, and quality standards
• Solve problems proactively and keep jobs moving forward

Financial Control
• Track budgets, costs, change orders, and vendor invoices
• Maintain clean documentation and accurate job costing
• Protect margins while delivering a quality product

Client Communication & Closeout
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout construction
• Provide clear updates, manage expectations, and address issues head-on
• Oversee punch lists, final inspections, and project closeout

You’ll typically manage multiple projects at a time, each with full responsibility for schedule, budget, and client experience.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of construction project management experience
• Strong understanding of scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and budgeting
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Experience using project management software (Buildertrend or similar)
• Comfortable being on job sites and leading from the front
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Experience (Not Required)

• Pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) experience
• Design-build project background
• Familiarity with Arizona permitting and local jurisdictions

Why This Role Is Different

• We run full-scope projects — PMs aren’t left filling gaps between trades
• Established systems, templates, and processes are already in place
• You’ll have real authority and accountability, not micromanagement
• Growing company with room to take on larger, more complex projects over time

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive salary based on experience
• Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
• 401(k) with company match
• Paid time off and paid holidays
• Company vehicle
• Phone and technology provided

This Role Is Not a Fit If

• You need constant direction to move a project forward
• You avoid hard conversations with subs or clients
• You’re uncomfortable owning problems until they’re fully resolved

If you’re a Project Manager who wants responsibility, clarity, and the opportunity to grow with a company that’s scaling the right way, we’d like to talk.
