The Welder A sets up and operates welding equipment, reviews drawings, and leads welders to ensure quality production standards are met.
Key Responsibilities Not Limited To:
- Weld ferrous and non-ferrous materials (MIG/TIG/Stick)
- Set up jobs, tools, and materials; fabricate jigs/fixtures as needed
- Lead and train welders on quality and production methods
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Work independently to complete assignments and meet schedules
- Perform inspections and quality checks
- Communicate job status and support needs to the Shop Foreman
Skills & Qualifications
- Basic math and strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of safety standards
- Willingness to be cross-trained
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift, push, or pull up to 40lbs unassisted
- Works in a typical production environment; must be flexible to work additional hours as needed
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- 2–3 years of welding experience in a machine shop (preferred)
- 1 year of supervisory or lead experience
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
