Pay: $21.00–$28.00/hr. (DOE)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Summary
This role supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC/R systems that control temperature and air quality in buildings. You’ll troubleshoot issues, complete preventative maintenance, and document work completed. Journeyman-level candidates and apprentices are both encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do Apprentice Track (working under supervision):
- Assist with installation of HVAC components and systems on residential new construction sites
- Learn troubleshooting basics by supporting diagnostics and repairs with a journeyman
- Use common hand/power tools and HVAC test equipment as trained
- Support preventative maintenance tasks as assigned
- Keep the work area clean and follow jobsite safety expectations
- Help document work completed (service notes, parts used, time, etc.) as needed
Journeyman Track (more independent work):
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC/R equipment and components (heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration)
- Inspect and test systems/components; identify and replace worn/defective parts
- Troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues; test circuits/controls to confirm proper operation
- Read and interpret schematics/blueprints and follow manufacturer specs and job instructions
- Perform preventative maintenance and recommend repairs/maintenance to improve system performance
- Maintain accurate records of work performed
Refrigerants (as applicable):
- When working with refrigerants, follow applicable regulations for proper handling and recovery (journeyman-led; apprentices learn under supervision)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Coachability, professionalism, and reliability on-site
- Comfortable with tools and physical work in a construction environment
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders as needed
- Ability to lift/carry tools and materials; work in varying indoor/outdoor conditions (heat/cold)
Experience Guidelines
- Apprentice: hands-on exposure (helper work, trade school, or mechanical experience) is a plus
- Journeyman: HVAC field experience with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision
- EPA certification not required for apprentice consideration
