Quantic BEI | Aerospace & Defense Technology
Quantic BEI is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our engineering team. This hands-on role provides exposure to real-world product development in a high-tech environment, supporting custom solutions designed to operate in extreme conditions (vibration, shock, temperature extremes, and vacuum).
What You’ll Do
- Assist with mechanical design and modeling using SolidWorks
- Support 3D printing and prototype fabrication
- Participate in assembly, fit-checks, and testing of mechanical components
- Create and maintain drawings, BOMs, and test documentation
- Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams
- Contribute to design reviews and technical problem-solving

Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Foundation in mechanical design principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Robotics - Building, programming, or competing with robots (FIRST Robotics, VEX, BattleBots, etc.)

- Amateur Rocketry - High-power rocketry, model rockets, or propulsion experiments

Bonus Experience
- SolidWorks or other CAD tools
- 3D printing and additive manufacturing
- Design for CNC machining and understanding of machining processes
