Description
Under the direction of the Equipment Manager, the Assistant Equipment Technician assists and/or works independently in the repair and maintenance of gasoline-, diesel-, and electric-powered golf course equipment. This position plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient maintenance facility while supporting a strong preventative maintenance program. Safety procedures are a top priority.
Requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with and independently perform repairs and maintenance on gasoline, diesel, and electric-powered equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized service area and maintenance building
- Contribute to and follow preventative maintenance programs
- Perform rotor blade and reel blade maintenance
- Inspect equipment daily and report mechanical issues
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate repairs
- Check quality of cut and make height-of-cut adjustments
- Assist with maintaining a clean, well-organized parts inventory room
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Maintain positive, cooperative working relationships with team members
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience & Qualifications
- Working knowledge of golf course equipment operation and servicing
- Experience repairing and adjusting power mowing equipment
- Understanding of job-related hazards and safety precautions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use common mechanical tools
- Ability to prioritize equipment repair and maintenance tasks
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
