Job Summary Overview

The Business and Development Analyst is a key contributor within the Digital Transformation team, responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technical delivery. This role leads the discovery and documentation of requirements, crafts clear and effective user stories, facilitates stakeholder sessions, and improves processes across the development and release lifecycle. The analyst ensures that solutions are well defined, aligned to organizational goals, and delivered efficiently through strong collaboration with product owners, developers, QA teams, and business partners.


Essential Job Functions

  • Lead and facilitate discovery sessions with cross functional teams to identify business needs, clarify requirements, and translate strategic goals into defined capabilities. 
  • Gather, analyze, and document detailed business and functional requirements for digital initiatives. 
  • Create high quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation to guide development teams. 
  • Map and document business processes, workflows, and system interactions with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and modernization. 
  • Collaborate with product owners, engineers, QA testers, and stakeholders to ensure requirements are fully understood and delivered as intended. 
  • Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies to promote transparency and smooth development cycles. 
  • Evaluate the impact of proposed changes and assist in solution design discussions to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and business strategy. 
  • Participate in testing activities, including test case review, UAT coordination, and validation of developed features. 
  • Monitor performance of implemented solutions and contribute to continuous enhancement of processes, tools, and delivery practices. 
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and present findings or recommendations in a clear, professional manner.


Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
  • One year of experience working as an analyst on project teams.
  • One year of experience gathering requirements and creating process documentation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of business analysis frameworks, requirements gathering techniques, and process modeling. 
  • Ability to convert complex business needs into structured, actionable, and well-documented requirements. 
  • Skilled facilitator with experience leading workshops, discovery sessions, and collaborative discussions. 
  • Proficiency with enterprise tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, ServiceNow, or comparable platforms. 
  • Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills with strong attention to detail. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional and executive-level interactions. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a team-oriented, collaborative mindset.


Licenses, Training, and Certifications Required

None.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services or credit union environments. 
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions.
  • Familiar with Agile and development process.
  • Familiar with AI prompting.
  • Familiar with CRM and ITSM solutions.
  • Familiar with low code workflow tools.
  • Familiar with system integrations.


Hybrid Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger keys accurately when using calculator machines or computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms. 
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 
  • Must be able to travel independently to department and branch locations.
