Job Title: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Compensation: % Net Collections, (Estimated annual earning potential between $130,000 - $200,000 w/ benefits) ; paid bi-weekly
Employment Type: W-2 Part-Time, Full-Time Employee; Exempt
Schedule: Monday-Friday (initially 2 days per week with option to grow to 5 days per week)
Location: This is a hybrid role based out of Darien, CT
Role Summary
The PMHNP provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for patients in an outpatient setting. Success in this role is demonstrated through safe prescribing practices, strong patient engagement, and collaboration with therapy and clinical teams.
PMHNP Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and comprehensive assessments.
- Provide ongoing medication management for assigned caseload.
- Develop treatment plans that align with client goals and clinical best practices.
- Monitor medication response, side effects, contraindications, and risk factors.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the EMR.
Collaboration
- Coordinate care with internal therapists, psychologists, and outside referents.
- Participate in case consultation and interdisciplinary discussion as needed.
- Communicate treatment progress and care plans with clients and families when appropriate.
Patient Experience & Clinical Contribution
- Provide empathetic, professional care to clients of varying backgrounds.
- Utilize evidence-based approaches to support symptom reduction and stability.
- Contribute to a supportive, growth-focused clinical environment.
- Engage in continuing education to maintain licensure and strengthen clinical practice.

PMHNP Required Qualifications
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License pursuant to the laws of the State where healthcare services are provided
- Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted license(s) to practice nursing pursuant to the laws of the State where healthcare services are provided
- Possess and maintain a valid Drug Enforcement Administration (“DEA”) number and all other licenses and certificates that may be lawfully required to prescribe medications, including controlled substances;
- Minimum of 3 years of post-certification, outpatient experience
- Ability to function well independently, as well as a member of a multidisciplinary team, ability to work productively and effectively.
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as thorough knowledge about the various medical processes and procedures
- Possess and maintain adequate/required Professional Liability Insurance policy
- Comply with prescription drug monitoring program regulations
PMHNP Preferred Qualifications
- Experience treating diverse age groups
- Knowledge of evidence-based medication protocols
