Your Contribution:

 The Systems Support Engineer serves as a technical and escalation resource within the Systems Support team, supporting LCCU’s endpoint, identity, Microsoft 365, server, and related technology platforms. Their main responsibility is to ensure that these systems run smoothly and reliably, whether by making changes to existing systems or creating new ones based on the priorities established during regular project planning. The role provides advanced troubleshooting, systems administration, automation, and technical support while helping improve the reliability, security, and manageability of LCCU’s technology environment. The Systems Support Engineer works across technology teams, maintains primary expertise in assigned platforms, and documents and shares technical knowledge with Systems Support and other technology team members to support effective knowledge transfer and cross-training. The position also supports technology modernization initiatives, including expanded use of cloud-based identity, endpoint management, automation, and modern Microsoft management capabilities where appropriate. 


 As a vital member of the LCCU team, your responsibilities include the following:

  • Serves as a technical and escalation resource for endpoint, identity, Microsoft 365, server, and related enterprise technologies in LCCU’s multi-office environment. 
  • Administers and supports Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Group Policy, and related identity and access capabilities. 
  • Administers endpoint and device-management technologies, including Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot, operating-system deployment, application deployment, patching, security configuration, compliance policies, and related endpoint-management functions. 
  • Provides advanced Tier 2/Tier 3 troubleshooting and escalation support for complex endpoint, identity, application, server, and connectivity issues. 
  • Provides technical support for network-related issues, including basic troubleshooting of LAN/WAN connectivity, DNS, DHCP, VPN, wireless, and endpoint connectivity, and partners with the Network Security Analyst and vendors on escalated network incidents, implementations, and infrastructure changes. 
  • Works with technology teams and business users to understand technical needs, troubleshoot complex issues, test solutions, and support technology enhancements and deployments. 
  • Provides escalation support for the Systems Support team and assists with complex incidents, recurring problems, and technical issues that require advanced troubleshooting. 
  • Supports the administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Windows Server, virtualization, backup, storage, Microsoft identity, Microsoft 365, Azure services, and related enterprise infrastructure in coordination with other technical resources and vendors. 
  • Supports identity and authentication capabilities including account lifecycle processes, single sign-on, multifactor authentication, Conditional Access, and related access controls. 
  • Uses PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, APIs, or other tools to automate repeatable support and administrative processes where appropriate. 
  • Contribute to the testing of business applications and technical infrastructure requirements. Contributes to application and infrastructure testing, technology deployments, upgrades, and other cross-functional IT initiatives. 
  • Works directly with technology vendors on assigned incidents, escalations, implementations, and support matters, in coordination with the Enterprise Application Manager and other technology leads. 
  • Performs proactive monitoring of assigned systems and services, reviews logs and alerts, and works with other technology teams to resolve availability, performance, and security issues. 
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation, support procedures, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge articles and provides mentoring and knowledge transfer to other Systems Support staff. 
  • Works as part of a cross-functional technology team, maintaining primary expertise in assigned platforms while collaborating across Systems Support, infrastructure, applications, network security, core applications, and other technology functions. 
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned. 


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 
  • Three or more years of progressive IT experience, including advanced systems support, systems administration, endpoint management, or related enterprise technology responsibilities. 
  • Three or more years of hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Microsoft Entra ID, or related Microsoft enterprise technologies. 
  • Hands-on experience with several of the following: Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, Exchange Online, Group Policy, PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Azure services, VMware, backup, or enterprise monitoring technologies. 
  • Experience troubleshooting complex endpoint, identity, application, server, and network-related issues in an enterprise environment. 
  • Experience with incident management, change management, asset management, and configuration management practices. 
  • Experience with enterprise ticketing or service-management platforms such as Jira. 
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, documentation, troubleshooting, and customer-service skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft enterprise platforms and server systems. 
  • Team player with ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to work effectively across technical teams and provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to less-experienced staff. 
  • Able to travel to other locations throughout the state as needed. 
  • Excellent communication skills with internal teams and external vendors. 
  • Ability to manage time with strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail. 
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively and proactively. 
  • Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with NCUA, FFIEC, GLBA, PCI DSS, or related financial-services requirements. 
  • Experience supporting modernization from traditional endpoint or identity management toward Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Microsoft Entra ID, or similar modern management technologies. 
  • Experience with Duo, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or other enterprise identity and multifactor-authentication platforms. 
  • Experience supporting a financial institution, credit union, bank, or other regulated organization.
