Description

The Dietary Aide is responsible for supporting the Dietary Supervisor and Cook in the preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals for residents/tenants in an assisted living environment. This role helps ensure that food preparation areas remain clean, sanitary, and organized, while maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all residents.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Set up and clean up the dining room before and after meals.
  • Assist with basic meal preparation and meal service according to the planned menu.
  • Help feed residents/tenants who need assistance, following safe feeding practices.
  • Practice and enforce proper sanitary food handling techniques and safe work habits.
  • Clean kitchen and surfaces according to sanitation schedules.
  • Support a dignified, respectful, and caring atmosphere with residents/tenants, families, guests, and team members.
  • Promote a healthy, resident/tenant-focused environment by interacting cooperatively and compassionately with residents and tenants.
  • Respond promptly and positively to resident/tenant and family requests and dietary needs.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
  • Keep strict confidentiality regarding resident/tenant information, and company operations in compliance with HIPAA and Platinum Communities’ policies.
  • Attend and actively participate in required meetings and in-service training opportunities.
  • Follow all community policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Must be at least 14 years of age.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
  • Flexible availability, including the ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional extra shifts as needed.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain CBRF/RCAC certifications, if required by the community.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism while working with elderly and/or vulnerable populations.
