Shift Information

2nd Shift (Primary Need)
Monday – Thursday
3:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
(Some overtime on Fridays and after standard hours as needed)


Position Summary

Responsible for installing punches and dies, setting up and operating the Amada EMK CNC Turret Punch Press, and producing precision sheet metal components that meet customer specifications and SMT quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Follow and comply with all company policies and safety procedures
     
  • Review traveler and blueprint to determine correct tooling requirements
     
  • Pull appropriate punches and dies from Tool Crib
     
  • Inspect punches and dies to ensure sharpness and proper condition
     
  • Install tooling and complete machine setup
     
  • Download and verify CNC programs
     
  • Run first piece and submit for inspection or certified approval
     
  • Make necessary adjustments and proceed with production run
     
  • Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other measuring equipment
     
  • Record required dimensions and quality checks
     
  • Perform shakeout and deburring as required
     
  • Complete all required production documentation accurately
     
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
     
  • Support team members and perform other duties as assigned
     

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
     
  • Minimum 2–3 years of industrial manufacturing experience
     
  • Prior experience setting up and operating an Amada Turret Punch Press (EMK preferred)
     
  • Programming experience is a plus
     

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong blueprint reading skills (including complex drawings)
     
  • Advanced knowledge of turret punch tooling and setup procedures
     
  • Solid understanding of fabrication processes
     
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
     
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, tape measure)
     
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
     
  • Ability to read, write, and follow detailed instructions
     
  • Dependable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
     

Working Environment

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat, fumes, and typical shop conditions
     
  • Hearing protection required
     
  • Standing for extended periods and lifting materials as required
