Summary

  

This position is part of the Summer Internship Program, which is scheduled to run from, Wednesday, May 27th through Friday, July 31st, potentially extending through mid-August based on the decision of the hiring manager and department. Candidates must be available for the full duration of the program to ensure a consistent and meaningful learning experience.


This Intern position is for a Marketing Assistant that will be responsible for helping promote the mission and purpose of Gulf Coast Bank & Trust to the community. Duties may include and are not limited to, monitoring, and supporting the company’s social media accounts, assisting the marketing team with various events and philanthropic programs, and completing tasks related to various bank-related email marketing campaigns.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and planning of the bank’s philanthropic programs such as Auctions in August. 
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director and business line leaders in the bank to regularly facilitate content to support the goals of their divisions.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to create engaging concepts and visuals that communicate key messages effectively.
  • Ensure consistency in brand representation across all channels.
  • Stay up to date on design trends and best practices.
  • Participate in assigned projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements


Skills/Experience/Education

  • Minimum preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree, recent graduates may be considered.
  • Academic majors in Marketing, Business Administration, Graphic Design, or similar fields of study, preferred.
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.

Essential Mental & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions. 
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 15 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division any “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
