Description
St. Croix Health is looking for a full-time (0.9 FTE) Materials Management Assistant to join our team.  This position will work Monday through Friday, day shifts. 


  

This position is responsible for assisting the Materials Management department with purchasing, receiving, storing and distribution of all supplies and equipment throughout the organization.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Inventory management. 

  • Accurately maintain central supply storage
  • Ensure data within materials management information system is accurate and up-to-date
  •     Track shipping and receiving activity as required by department process/procedure
  •     Log missed shipments and inventory stock-outs
  • Follow physical inventory procedures to ensure sufficient stock of required materials is on-hand
  •     Purchase supplies and equipment as needed/requested following organization policies and procedures
  • Participate in annual inventory processes as assigned
  • Maintain shipping and receiving documents

2. Distribution of materials, supplies and equipment. 

  • Unload materials when received
  • Responsible for distributing assigned materials, supplies and equipment throughout organization
  • Collect mail and packages for shipment and distribution to designated recipient

3. Maintain case carts for Surgical Services.

  • Ensure case carts in Surgical Services are properly stocked
  • Review inventory for accuracy and completeness of items
  • Responsible for communicating supply chain issues
  • Partner with appropriate staff in Surgical Services to ensure materials management needs are fulfilled and identify areas for improvement

4. Other duties as assigned.

  • Handle all aspects of purchasing and compliance
  • Ensure best prices are obtained from all buying sources
  • Research and resolve supply chain issues
  • Coordinate Capital/Non-stock purchase orders with customers and vendors
  • Coordinate all communication and follow through with product recalls and returns
Requirements

Education & Licensure:

  • High school diploma required

Experience:

  • No experience required
  • Knowledge of products used in healthcare helpful but not required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Exemplary customer service abilities
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction and manage multiple demands and priorities

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
