We’re looking for someone who:
- Can process timely and accurate on-cycle and off-cycle payrolls for internal staff and multiple ministries.
- Ensures payroll compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.
- Has managed payroll deductions, benefits integrations, tax filings, and year-end reporting.
- Can troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and resolve payroll-related inquiries with a high level of customer service.
- Will lead or support payroll and HRIS implementations, upgrades, and system transitions.
- Can support HR functions related to payroll, including onboarding/offboarding, employee data management, and compensation changes.
- Partner with HR to ensure accurate employee records, classifications, and pay practices.
- Assist with HR compliance efforts, audits, and documentation.
- Resource and train internal teams and ministries on payroll and HR-related systems, policies, and processes.
- Provide payroll and HR support to multiple ministries, ensuring excellence in service delivery, project management, and relationship development.
- Collaborate with ministries to understand their payroll and HR processes and recommend best-practice improvements.
- Participate in ministry projects such as payroll audits, HR assessments, or process improvement initiatives.
- Support the long-term strategy and growth of the Payroll Talent Group in collaboration with other team members.

Requirements
Our ideal candidate:
- Heart for serving the church, loves Jesus, & is excited to grow the capital “C” church.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in payroll processing, with demonstrated HR Generalist experience.
- Experience in a non-profit organization, religious church, camp, or school preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll best practices, wage and hour laws, and employment regulations.
- Experience with Payroll & HRIS systems (e.g., Paylocity, Paychex, Paycom, ADP, Gusto, etc).
- Solid understanding of HR fundamentals including employee records, onboarding/offboarding, and compensation practices.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office or G-Suite systems.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
Physical Requirements: May sit for extended periods of time with limited walking, standing, stooping, or bending. May occasionally lift or move up to 15 lbs.
Salary Description
$25-$30/hour
