We are seeking a Senior Project/Account Manager to lead complex or high-visibility medical communication programs and oversee a portfolio of projects for key clients. This role serves as a strategic partner to clients, driving program planning, quality, and performance while providing direction and oversight to Project Managers, Associate Project Managers, and Project Coordinators. The Senior Project/Account Manager is accountable for client satisfaction, financial health, and continuous improvement across assigned accounts.
The corporate office is located in Voorhees, New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia. The role can be 100% remote, or partial in office, if desired.
Project & Program Leadership
- Lead diverse medical communication initiatives, including exhibit booths, patient materials, advisory boards, publications, clinical posters, newsletters, KOL development, and webcasts.
- Oversee project lifecycle from planning to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Guide and support Project and Associate Project Managers, resolving challenges and optimizing workflow.
- Proactively manage risks and escalate complex issues to senior leadership when necessary.
Client & Account Leadership
- Serve as the primary client partner, building trust and leading strategic discussions.
- Maintain strong relationships with faculty, external stakeholders, and Key Opinion Leaders.
- Conduct client meetings, status updates, and program reviews, communicating insights and recommendations clearly.
- Identify opportunities for organic account growth and contribute to new business initiatives.
Cross-Functional & Vendor Collaboration
- Coordinate with internal teams including Medical Strategy, Editorial, Creative, Meeting, IT & Web, Fulfillment, and Accounting.
- Manage external vendors and freelance contractors to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Support development and refinement of internal SOPs and processes.
Financial Management
- Oversee program financials, including forecasting, margin management, and scope adherence.
- Approve project budgets and proactively address scope changes or overages.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Lead project teams, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Support leadership in team performance reviews and advancement planning.
Additional Responsibilities
- Contribute to new business proposals, presentations, and client research.
- Enhance internal processes and tools for greater efficiency and quality.
- Travel up to 25%, including nights and weekends as needed.
Skills & Experience
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities in fast-paced environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; adept at leading discussions and managing stakeholder expectations.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and excellent customer service orientation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field); significant relevant experience considered.
- 5–7+ years in agency or medical communications, including managing complex projects and client relationships.
- Prior experience leading project teams strongly preferred.
