Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Administrator
Compensation: $70,000-85,000 annually; paid bi-weekly
Employment Type: W-2 Full-Time Employee; Exempt
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm EST
Location: This is a remote position
Role Summary
The HRIS Administrator is responsible for the administration of our HRIS system and team as well as providing high-level administrative support for company leaders to ensure they can efficiently accomplish key tasks and company initiatives. The HRIS Administrator will be hands-on and subject matter expert of the HRIS system. They should have a broad and deep skill set to manage the company’s HRIS functions.
HRIS Administrator Responsibilities
HRIS Administration & Data Integrity:
- Maintain accurate employee records, job data, compensation, and status changes
- Administer user access, security roles, and permissions
- Perform routine audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance
- Serve as primary HRIS troubleshooting resource
Payroll, Benefits & Integrations Support:
- Support payroll and benefits data flow and accuracy
- Leads with HRIS integrations and vendor file exchanges
- Leads and supports new EIN setup and maintenance
- Assist with benefits implementation tasks, including EDI testing
Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle:
- Support HRIS components of onboarding, job changes, and terminations
- Serve as HRIS onboarding subject matter expert
- Troubleshoot onboarding workflow issues
- Compensation changes approval management
Reporting & Documentation:
- Produce standard and ad-hoc reports and employee censuses
- Maintain HRIS SOPs and documentation
- Support audit and compliance data requests
Service & Cross-Functional Support:
- Manage HR ticketing systems and shared inboxes
- Coordinate resolution of complex HRIS issues across teams
- Support system testing during upgrades and enhancements
- Ability to manage through ambiguity and ever-changing timelines and business assumptions
- Support process improvement and enhancement
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: $70,000-85,000 annually; paid bi-weekly

HRIS Administrator Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–5 years of experience administering an HRIS platform (e.g., Paylocity, UKG, Workday, ADP, BambooHR); Paylocity HCM system preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Products; Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data validation)
- Strong understanding of HR processes including payroll, benefits, and employee data lifecycle
- Working knowledge of HR compliance requirements (FLSA, I-9, wage and hour rules)
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to support non-technical users and translate HR needs into system solutions
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate new systems required.
- Self-motivated with a positive and exceptional work ethic, possessing great attention to detail.
- Ability to educate and train other staff members and implement project plans within scheduled timelines.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to abide by ethical guidelines and policies, including strict adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
