The Opportunity

This position is an onsite position in Anaheim, Ca.

We are looking for a Platform Engineer who is excited to build and operate the internal platforms that empower development and DevOps teams to deliver secure, compliant, and reliable services at scale.

This role is ideal for someone with strong DevOps background who enjoys creating internal platform products not just managing production systems. You will focus on automation, self-service, and collaboration, providing “golden paths” that reduce friction while keeping the right level of transparency for engineering teams.

You will play a key role in designing and operating shared infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and multi-tenant test environments that mirror production, enabling safe and repeatable change.

What You Will Do

Platform & Infrastructure

  • Build, operate, and continuously improve Proxmox-based virtualization platforms, including VM provisioning, lifecycle management, and high availability.
  • Design and maintain multi-tenant test environments that allow multiple teams and clients to test concurrently without interference.
  • Support Kubernetes cluster operations (namespaces, deployments, ingress, quotas) and contribute to standardized golden-path templates for application teams.

CI/CD Pipeline Design (Must Have)

  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines from scratch (5+ years required).
  • Automate environment provisioning, configuration, and updates as part of the delivery workflow.
  • Enable promotion across dev, multi-tenant test, staging, and production with repeatable, auditable steps and automated rollback.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code

  • Define and manage infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps workflows.
  • Automate environment creation, teardown, test data seeding, and access controls.
  • Use IaC to provision database infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, users, and base PostgreSQL/MySQL instances.

Observability, Reliability & Operations

  • Design and maintain logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerts for platform services.
  • Partner with SRE and platform leadership to help maintain platform SLOs (e.g., 99.9% uptime).
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation.
  • Perform routine audits and proactively identify issues using system logs and metrics.

Security, Compliance & Governance

  • Build security best practices into platforms and pipelines, including system hardening, secrets management, and least-privilege access.
  • Automate compliance checks in CI/CD pipelines to support DPA, SOC, and client security requirements.
  • Support audits, client questionnaires, and documentation of platform controls.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work closely with Development, DevOps, SRE, InfoSec, and IT Operations teams.
  • Provide technical guidance on feasibility, cost, and value of platform enhancements.
  • Document architectures, runbooks, SOPs, and CI/CD patterns to support onboarding and scale.

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and operating CI/CD pipelines (must have).
  • Strong Linux systems administration experience and scripting for automation (e.g., C#, Python).
  • Experience with Proxmox VE, Kubernetes, and containerized platforms.
  • Solid networking knowledge (firewalls, VPNs, routing, load balancing; TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, Git, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Background in information security and secure system configuration.
  • Experience building monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Redis clusters or distributed caching/messaging systems.
  • Familiarity with Proxmox storage, VM design, and multi-site networking.
  • Experience with GitOps tools and integrating security tooling into CI/CD (SAST/DAST, dependency scanning).
  • Prior experience in regulated or highly audited environments (data privacy, print/mail, financial, healthcare).
