We are currently seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for a skilled, hands-on professional with at least five years of experience in commercial and/or residential construction, maintenance, or repair work. Experience with metal stud framing and drywall installation is a plus.

This position supports properties primarily throughout the Indianapolis metropolitan area, with occasional travel required based on project needs. A valid driver's license and the ability to maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect facilities, equipment, and building systems to identify maintenance and repair needs.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine effective repair solutions.
• Plan and execute repair work using building drawings, equipment manuals, and project documentation as needed.
• Perform general maintenance and repair tasks, including: 
  • Drywall repair and finishing
  • Painting
  • Basic plumbing repairs
  • Light electrical work
  • Appliance maintenance and repair
  • Door, hardware, and fixture repairs
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas and facilities.
• Coordinate the ordering and inventory of materials, tools, and supplies needed for repairs and maintenance activities.
• Work collaboratively with team members, subcontractors, and clients to ensure timely completion of maintenance projects.
• Perform additional maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction, residential construction, building maintenance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of general building maintenance practices and repair techniques.
• Experience with drywall installation and repair; metal stud framing experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and building systems maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
• Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
• Experience in apartment maintenance or facilities maintenance strongly preferred.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Valid driver’s license.  Must be able to pass a Moving Vehicle Report
• You may be required to pass a background check

Education and Experience:

• 5+ years of related experience in either the commercial or residential fields.
• On-the-job training offered.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds at a time.
