Location: Cincinnati OH - Work Arrangement: Field-Based (Remote from Corporate Office; Not Work From Home)
The Install Technician – Level II is an independent field professional responsible for deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting POS systems and low voltage infrastructure across customer locations throughout the Midwest. This role is fully field-based and requires regular travel to job sites. “Remote” refers to reporting structure only; this is not a home-based position. Technicians operate in the field daily and report to the main office quarter
Key Responsibilities include independently installing and configuring POS terminals, routers, switches, wireless access points, and related hardware; performing structured cabling installations including pulling, routing, terminating, and testing Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber; conducting site surveys and identifying installation challenges; troubleshooting technical issues without direct supervision; collaborating with project managers and customers to ensure on-time project completion; maintaining accurate installation documentation and as-built reports; managing company tools and equipment; and adhering to all safety and compliance requirements.ly or as required.
Qualifications - two to four years of experience in POS installation, networking, or low voltage environments; demonstrated ability to work independently on job sites; proficiency reading blueprints and technical diagrams; strong troubleshooting capability; ability to operate powered hand tools and testing equipment safely; extensive travel availability within the Midwest (approximately 80–85%); and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, BICSI, or relevant manufacturer credentials are preferred.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
2–4 years of POS, networking, or low voltage experience.
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams.
Valid driver’s license with clean record.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Extensive Midwest travel required.
Preferred not required:
CompTIA A+, Network+, BICSI, or manufacturer certifications.
Experience in retail or distribution center deployments.
