Job Title: Factory Baker

Position Summary
The Factory Baker is responsible for preparing, mixing, baking, and packaging products according to company recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines. This role requires strong attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate has experience producing a variety of baked goods, including bagels, sweet treats, and gluten-free products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and measure ingredients accurately by following standardized recipes
     
  • Mix, shape, proof, and bake products such as bagels, breads, pastries, and sweet baked goods
     
  • Prepare and bake gluten-free (GF) products while following proper allergen control procedures
     
  • Operate commercial baking equipment including mixers, ovens, proofers, and dough sheeters
     
  • Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent product quality
     
  • Follow daily production schedules to meet output goals and deadlines
     
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and production areas
     
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen control procedures at all times
     
  • Properly label finished products and ensure correct storage and handling
     
  • Report equipment issues, ingredient shortages, or product inconsistencies to supervisors
     
  • Assist with packaging, labeling, and preparation of products for shipment when needed
     
  • Comply with all company policies, safety regulations, and production standards


Requirements

 

 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in baking or food production preferred
     
  • Experience making bagels, sweet baked goods, and gluten-free products strongly preferred
     
  • Knowledge of gluten-free ingredient handling and cross-contamination prevention is a plus
     
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
     
  • Basic math skills (measuring, weighing, and portioning ingredients)
     
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, or overtime if required
     
  • Strong attention to detail, consistency, and quality
     

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
     
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
     
  • Ability to work in warm environments near ovens and baking equipment
     
  • Repetitive use of hands, arms, and wrists during mixing, shaping, and packaging
     

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced commercial production kitchen
     
  • Exposure to heat, flour dust, and food allergens
     
  • Requires teamwork, communication, and adherence to strict food safety practices
