Salary Range 5 Non-exempt: $16.27 - $24.40 (Pay will be $18.00 per hour) 

Start Date: June 8, 2026

Employment Type: Temporary part time totaling 300 hours

Report To: Operational Accounting Manager    


With the goal of enhancing lives, fulfilling dreams and building communities this position will support initiatives within the Accounting department with foundational, entry-level accounting responsibilities. This role is designed to help improve workflow efficiency and maintain accuracy in daily, weekly, and monthly accounting activities. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Assist with the preparation and review of journal entries. 
  • Create and maintain general ledger reconciliations. 
  • Review reconciliations for accuracy and completeness. 
  • Assist with account reviews and identification of variances. 
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with internal controls and department standards. 
  • Support consistent, accurate, and timely completion of routine accounting work. 
  • Collaborate with team members and business partners to support departmental goals. 
  • Bring fresh ideas and insights by thinking creatively and approaching challenges from new perspectives. 
  • Maintains knowledge and adheres to all BSA regulations and compliance standards on internal and external policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This position has no formal, direct supervisory responsibilities although will work with leaders and peers in the organization to drive results.

Contributes to the organization's mission statement and goals by providing the highest quality of service, treating each person professionally - with warmth, courtesy, and respect, and making a personal effort to make members feel they belong and are important to the credit union.  


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

Currently pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or other related field.  


Preferred Qualifications: 

Currently pursuing a degree in Central to Eastern WA or ID state where Numerica Credit Union is currently chartered.  


SKILLS and ABILITIES: 

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. 
  • Dependable and comfortable performing repetitive, task-driven work. 
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines. 
  • Willingness to ask questions and learn accounting processes. 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills. 
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools. 
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently on multiple projects while meeting deadlines. 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, logic and reasoning, communication, and documentation skills. 
  • Able to work during regular business hours; Monday to Friday, 8-5 p.m. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and business partners. 
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. 
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
