Menchey Music Service, the area's largest family-owned music store, has over 80 studios throughout our 8 locations. We are always looking for qualified teachers to join our Menchey School of Music team. Due to fast pace growth, we have an opening for a private violin / viola / cello teacher at our York location. This position requires teacher availability on a weekday evening beginning at 4pm or a 4hr block on Saturdays.

Job Summary: As a private string teacher, you will primarily offer 1 on 1 violin, viola, or cello lessons and work with our amazing staff to foster a fun environment for students to discover their passion for music! You will be free to focus on developing your students individually while we advertise and support your studio’s growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach music to students of all ability levels in a way that makes them excited to learn!
- Communicate effectively with your students and their parents about their progress and needs to help them grow as musicians.
- Work with our staff and community of musicians to build a lesson experience that goes beyond the practice room!
- Use our online scheduler to track student attendance, assign practice, and keep track of your students’ progress.
- Use provided payroll and human resource information system completing weekly timesheets and performing required training and compliance tasks.
Education and Experience
- 2 years of college level music experience, 5 years of music teaching/performance experience, or a combination of both.
- A bachelor's degree (or degree in progress) in music education or performance or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
- Experience working with youth and/or beginner musicians is preferred.
- Specialty in one or more instruments
- Possess a strong competency of music theory
- Must pass an initial background check as well as recurring background checks, which will be completed every 3 years. Continued employment is contingent on clear background checks.
