POSITION SUMMARY
Lyssé is looking for a dynamic, detailed oriented and experienced Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate, reporting to the Controller will provide support to the accounting department in the areas of Financials Preparation and Reportig, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Returns and Inventory Management. The position, located in Indianapolis, is results-oriented and requires a positive, highly motivated, savvy employee.??This is a full-time in office position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Month-end and Year-end Closing: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow and breakeven statements along with other important monthly analyses. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Financial Reporting package is to be reviewed with Controller and completed within five (5) to seven (7) business days.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide insights and trends to support decision-making.
- AR/AP: Own the accounts receivable and accounts payable process to include invoicing, posting cash, collections, posting vendor invoices, and preparing the weekly payables run.
- Operations Support: Assist Controller and operations team to improve efficiency.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist Controller with preparation of budgets and forecasts. Monitor and analyze budget variances, provide explanations, and recommend corrective actions.
- Internal Controls and Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and financial regulations. Identify areas for process improvement and implement control enhancements.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in tax-related activities, such as preparing tax returns, supporting tax audits, and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Education and Certification: A bachelor's degree in accounting is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are welcome but not necessary.
- Experience: Five (5) years of relevant accounting experience, including experience in month-end and year-end closing, financial reporting, and financial analysis. Experience with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations is necessary.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights. Proficiency in using financial analysis tools and software.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and data analysis.
- Knowledge of Accounting Software: Strong proficiency in using accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Experience with software such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks is often beneficial.
- Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, stakeholders, and management.
