ABOUT THE JOB
SUMMARY
The Quality Technician I plays a key role in ensuring our products meet customer and company quality standards. This entry-level position performs basic inspections, documents results, supports production with quality-related questions, and helps maintain a strong culture of quality across the facility. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work, are detail-oriented, and are interested in growing into higher-level Quality Technician roles.
CORE DUTIES
INS Inspections & Material Disposition
- Perform and manage INS In Coming Inspections in a timely and accurate manner, utilizing the INS “Hot List” and Skip Lot List to prioritize work.
- Maintain accuracy of INS and all Quality Inventory Locations in Syteline, including proper INS disposition to Stock.
- Document inspection results clearly and ensure all required records are completed and filed in accordance with quality procedures.
Quality Support, Audits & Rework Activities
- Direct, perform, prioritize, and document rework and sorting activities as assigned.
- Conduct dock/shipping audits, in process production audits, Tiered Process audits, and testing specific audits (e.g., ESD) following established procedures.
- Aid Production in the Quality Improvement Process by communicating findings, identifying trends, and escalating recurring issues.
- Assist the Quality Manager and Assistant Quality Manager on daily activities, projects, or issues requiring additional support.
Training & Cross Functional Support
- Assist in training employees across the organization on quality systems, procedures, inspection techniques, and documentation requirements.
- Provide hands on support to production teams by answering quality questions, clarifying requirements, and helping enforce standardized work.
Customer & Supplier Quality Communication
- Support customer contact, communication, and resolution of quality issues by gathering data, performing inspections, and preparing documentation.
- Communicate with suppliers and customers regarding corrective actions, improvement requests, and follow up expectations to maintain quality performance.
Equipment Control
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the quality and personnel areas, including quality tools, equipment, and signage.
Corrective Action, Reporting & Documentation
- Keep Corrective Action Requests (CARs) updated and assist in tracking CAR status within Wrike.
- Complete Deviations as requested, ensuring thorough documentation and accuracy.
- Compile weekly and monthly reports as directed by Quality leadership.
Recordkeeping & Department Administration
- File, maintain, and quality control records in compliance with quality system requirements.
- Purchase and restock supplies needed for the Quality Department, following department standards and purchasing procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

JOB DESIRABLES AND REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 0–1 year of experience in manufacturing or quality preferred but not required.
- Technical coursework in manufacturing, measurement, or blueprint reading is helpful.
Physical Demands:
- Work is performed in a manufacturing and office environment.
- May involve standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 lbs, and repetitive hand motion.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, for documentation, data entry, and communication.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and support ongoing quality initiatives.
- Willingness to complete required training, including Blueprint Reading and Interpretation, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Syteline/ERP training, and other quality-related courses as assigned.
- Basic understanding of quality control principles, manufacturing processes, and standard inspection methods.
- Ability to use basic measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment following provided work instructions.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performing inspections, documenting results, and identifying nonconformances.
- Basic computer and data-entry skills, including accurate recordkeeping within quality systems and ERP platforms such as Syteline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly relay inspection results, report issues, and work effectively with production, suppliers, and customers.
- Ability to follow standardized procedures, work instructions, and quality system requirements to ensure consistent inspection and documentation.
- Problem-solving orientation, including the ability to recognize quality issues, escalate concerns appropriately, and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also performing tasks independently with guidance.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn, including openness to new tools, inspection techniques, software systems, and evolving quality processes.
