Description

Responsible for collaborating with internal business partners to review quality metric results and identifying specific areas of

opportunity to provide world class service to customers. Identify gaps in processes or inconsistencies, training opportunities, and

performance issues in support of the business goals.


Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and guidance to Plant Quality personnel as needed to ensure the integrity of the company’s quality systems and practices.
  • Identify opportunities to develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance with customer, internal, and supplier quality goals.
  • Provide quality expertise in technical discussions with company personnel, customers, and vendors. Represent the company’s interest while negotiating and resolving claims.
  • Audit quality procedures to evaluate materials, products, processes, and systems in relation to company and customer specifications. Help to organize and direct the inspection and test of raw materials, in-process, and finished materials.
  • Ensure nonconforming materials are dealt with in a timely and cost-effective manner in accordance with company procedures and policies.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce nonconformance rate and costs.
  • Issue Return Authorizations to customers, log, file, and estimate costs. Examine returned material from customers, determine disposition, and resolve claims.
  • Select skilled associates for specific job functions when and where necessary. Provide on-going training and development to maximize potential.
  • Conduct employee performance appraisals as required.
  • Lead problem solving activities for internal/external concerns related to assigned responsibilities.
  • Provide required reports to management.
  • Provide oversight and management of on-site laboratory.
  • Other duties as assigned by executive management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of previous experience in Quality Management.
  • Thorough understanding of ISO 9000, IATF 16949
  • Maintain professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary to provide guidance and serve as an internal expert on quality systems, philosophy, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Proficient in PC applications as well as on-line computer systems.
  • Ability to maintain and build quality, effective relationships with all levels of employees, and management.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Excellent written and communication skills with the demonstration of clear and concise documentation as well as articulate speaking.
  • Consistently achieve desired results by taking personal accountability, effectively organizing and planning work, setting priorities, and executing action plans.
  • Ability to apply well-developed time management skills to define priorities and implement activities tailored to meet requirements and deadlines.
