What You’ll Do

Under the direct supervision of the Club Services Administrator, the On-Call Youth Development Coordinator supports Clubhouses & School-Based Clubs across the organization by providing flexible program and departmental support. This role leads or co-facilitates engaging programs for youth ages 6–18, ensuring a secure environment while supporting team members and helping achieve core program goals.

  • Supervision & Safety — Ensure a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for all youth participants.
  • Program Facilitation — Run or co-facilitate engaging after-school programs and activities for groups of approximately 10 youth.
  • Mentoring & Youth Growth — Serve as a positive role model and mentor to young participants, fostering their self-esteem, character, and personal development.
  • Maintain a Positive Environment — Cultivate a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful Clubhouse atmosphere where every child feels valued.
  • Team Collaboration — Collaborate with teammates and Club staff to ensure program goals are met and best practices are shared across sites.

What You Bring

Required
  • Genuine passion for working with youth (no prior experience working with children required)
  • Previous work or volunteer experience (e.g., customer service, education, security, community programs)
  • Strong desire to co-facilitate activities and support teammates in program execution
  • Proven communication, organizational, and self-starter abilities
Preferred
  • 6+ months of experience working in a youth development setting
  • Education or coursework in Early Childhood Development, Education, or related fields
  • Current Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (or willing to obtain within 90 days of employment)
  • Bilingual language skills (highly encouraged)

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively.
  • Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.

Compensation

The estimated wage for this position is $23.50 per hour. Final compensation is determined based on a range of factors, including skill set, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs. Candidates may be hired at the entry, mid, or senior level of the range depending on qualifications and position requirements.


Pre-Employment Requirements

As part of the hiring process, BGCSF requires candidates to complete LiveScan fingerprinting, a background check, and a tuberculosis (TB) evaluation or test.
