Job Title: Shipping Clerk

Reports to: Global Director of Customer Service & Logistics
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY: The Shipping Clerk is responsible for ensuring the timely picking, packaging, and shipping of product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Answer department phones and emails as needed.
- Stock and maintain finished goods using FIFO.
- Complete all needed commercial export paperwork.
- Communicate any shipping delays with Customer Service and Shipping Supervisor.
- Pick and pack finished goods items for shipment using pick tickets.
- Operate forklift to transport shipments to/from the storage area and store material in racks.
- Prepare documents, labels, bills of lading and special instructions to route shipments.
- Input order information into SAP and carrier databases.
- Take part in year-end and general inventory procedures.
- Participate in the hand unloading of trailers as required.
- File and maintain shipping documents as required per SOP.
- Maintain an orderly and organized work area.
- Must be willing and available to work overtime, particularly at the end of month and end of quarters.
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.
QUALITY ASSURANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The individual must comply with the following quality system requirements including, but not limited to:
- Use only formally approved procedures, records, documents, and specifications known as “Control Documents” (e.g., device history records, data collection forms, drawings, procedures, and specifications).
- Use only properly calibrated and maintained equipment.
- Immediately bring to attention of the head of the Quality Assurance department any possible deviations from specified Standard Operating Procedures or Work Instructions he or she may notice.
- Ensure no components, parts, manufacturing materials or products will be released unless they meet all inspection and test criteria.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions relating to the functions performed.
- Ensure all purchasing documents are completed to Work Instructions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and one year minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic Computer literacy and shipping software experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to respond to common inquiries from members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to personnel of all level employees.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
