Field Laboratory Phlebotomist:
Job Title and Overview:
This role is a critical part of the quantitative drug testing analysis performed by Dominion Diagnostics. You will be responsible for collecting urine specimens from patients, entering patient information into the electronic requisition form, and packaging and shipping all specimens to the laboratory for the purpose of analysis.
Schedule:
- Monday-Thursday 9a-2p (20 hours weekly)
- Hpurs are flexible
The Phlebotomist will perform the following duties while delivering superior customer service:
- Facilitate the collection of urine samples and blood draws while following departmental policies, and complete all required order entry tasks.
- Maintain inventory of sampling supplies and ordering as needed.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in all documentation.
- Follow established HIPAA and compliance policies.
- Must work efficiently with a team of laboratory professionals.
- Label specimens accurately and complete all required documentation.
- Prepare and package specimens for laboratory transport in accordance with shipping and stability guidelines.
- Ensure collection areas are clean, organized and stocked with neccessary supplies.
- Report collection issues, refusals or unusual incidents according to facility policy.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols, including proper PPE usage.

- Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure, while maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanor.
- Basic computer/data entry skills and knowledge, including proficiency in common applications such as Microsoft Office, email communication, and the internet.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Physical activities include frequent walking, sitting, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting and squatting.
