We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Dog Bather to join our professional pet care team in the Milwaukee/Shorewood area. In this role, you will provide high-quality bathing services for dogs of all breeds and sizes. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in dog bathing or grooming, strong animal handling skills, and a genuine love for pets. Key Responsibilities

• Safely handle and bathe dogs of various sizes and temperaments
• Perform brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and drying
• Follow breed standards or client instructions for grooming prep
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the grooming area and tools
• Identify and report signs of illness, stress, or injury to leadership or the veterinary team
• Assist with basic pet care tasks as needed (feeding, comfort care, etc.)
• Support other departments as needed (kennel, retail, vet handling, etc.)
• Practice safe lifting techniques when handling pets or equipment

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of professional dog bathing or grooming experience required
• Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and behavior types
• Familiarity with grooming tools, shampoos, and breed-specific needs
• Ability to lift 45+ lbs and stand for extended periods
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Veterinary assistant or kennel experience is a plus
• Dependable, proactive, and team-oriented

General: Customer/Guest service and retail experience, preferably in the pet industry. Knowledge of pet related products. Willingness to learn all aspects of pet grooming.

Working Environment: This job operates in a retail environment with merchandise displays and inventory items available for purchase.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a variable hour position, days and hours of work will vary. This position requires the flexibility to work within our normal store operating hours, including before and/or after hours and weekends. Overtime may be required at times.

Travel: Occasional travel to other stores, meetings and events, at times before or after hours, is expected with this position.

Required Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED
