Hotel Security Guard - Part Time 11 pm to 7 am.

Summary
A Hotel Security Guard plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the hotel's guests, employees, and property. This position is responsible for maintaining a secure environment by patrolling hotel premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, and promptly responding to any security incidents or emergencies. The Hotel Security Guard’s vigilant presence and excellent communication skills will help create a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all hotel guests and staff.
The Hotel Security Guard shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They will be responsible for exemplifying the SCP’s Culture & Core Values.
The Job
- Security Patrol and Monitoring:
- Conduct regular patrols of all hotel areas, including guest floors, public spaces, parking lots, and back-of-house areas to deter potential security breaches.
- Monitor security cameras and alarm systems to promptly identify and address suspicious activities or potential threats.
- Report any unusual or unauthorized behavior to the appropriate authorities and document incidents in detail.
- Guest and Employee Safety:
- Greet and assist guests with a friendly and professional demeanor while maintaining a security-focused presence.
- Ensure that guests and team members adhere to the hotel's safety policies and procedures.
- Escort guests and team members to their vehicles or designated areas upon request during late hours or in vulnerable situations.
- Emergency Response:
-Respond quickly and efficiently to all security-related incidents, such as disturbances, accidents, medical emergencies, and fire alarms.
- Coordinate with emergency services (police, fire department, medical personnel) as required and provide them with necessary assistance.
Access Control:
- Monitor access points to the hotel, verifying the identity of visitors, guests, and team members.
- Ensuring all hotel doors are locked and that all rooms are properly silent.
- Prevent and detect theft or loss of hotel property by conducting bag checks, inspecting packages, and implementing appropriate loss prevention measures. -Collaborate with hotel management to investigate incidents of theft or unauthorized access and assist in implementing preventive strategies.
- Follow Hotel policies with lost and found items.
- Safety Equipment and Procedures:
- Regularly inspect and maintain security equipment, such as surveillance cameras, alarms, and radios, to ensure proper functioning.
Familiarize yourself with emergency response protocols and assist in conducting periodic safety drills for staff.
Report Writing:
-Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports, logging all activities and observations during your shift.
-Maintain a daily log of events, observations, and tasks.
- Follow Hotel policies with lost and found items.
- Adhere to Hotel requirements for guest and team member accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.

Job Requirements
- Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Fluency in other languages is beneficial.
- Must be able to follow instructions, both verbally and written accurately.
- Professional in appearance and demeanor.
- Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with guests, vendors, and team members.
- Must have the ability to resolve problems and/or conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
- Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Supervision
- Reports to the AGM.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is desirable.
