This position is responsible for picking, pulling, packing and delivering orders while serving as a knowledgeable resource on products and performing basic stocking and maintenance functions in the retail store and warehouse.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Greet and interact with customers, serving as a brand ambassador to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.
- Complete customer orders by loading and unloading, serving as the primary point of contact for making local deliveries.
- Receive & maintain product stock in the store and warehouse. Coordinate and assist with inventory management operations.
- Repackage and label products as needed.
- Assemble, clean and maintain fixtures, displays, shelves, aisles and related products.
- Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Maintain the overall general maintenance and housekeeping of the warehouse, delivery vehicles, equipment and surrounding areas.
- Serve as a safety liaison between personnel and management.
- Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 21 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license with a safe driving history for no less than five years.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills, including navigating websites and receiving/sending emails.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently; climb ladders and stairs; and work in outdoor environments.
- Lift, carry, push, pull and load up to 50 pounds.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Proven track record of being dependable and reliable.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen, fit for duty physical assessment and background check as a condition of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in a warehouse and/or retail setting.
- Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, lawn & garden or wild bird supplies.
- Experience safely operating pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
SCHEDULE
Full-time, 40 hours per week, Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed, especially during times of high seasonal demand.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
