Role Overview:

We are seeking a Safety and Health Coordinator to join our team at our new assembly facility in Northwest Houston, TX. This role reports to the Senior Director of Safety and Environmental and supports the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs across the site.


This is a new role with strong growth potential as the facility expands. The successful candidate will work under general supervision and collaborate with operations to ensure safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in workplace safety.


Key Responsibilities:

You will support daily safety and environmental operations while helping build a strong safety culture across the facility.

  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and safety walks to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, document, and assist in addressing workplace hazards and environmental risks to protect employees and the environment.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety programs, and assembly safety standards.
  • Assist with incident investigations, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and task-based risk assessments, and track corrective actions.
  • Support safety meetings, toolbox talks, orientations, and employee onboarding related to safety practices.
  • Maintain and update EHS procedures, documentation, and safety management systems.
  • Promote reporting of leading safety indicators and near misses to strengthen proactive safety practices.
  • Serve as a visible safety presence on the floor, supporting employees and supervisors in safe execution of work.
  • Assist with site environmental and waste management compliance activities.
     
Requirements

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or coursework in Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2–3+ years of safety, environmental, or EHS support experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or operational setting.
  • Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
  • Ability to interpret and explain HSE procedures, checklists, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization. 
  • Ability to build trust with frontline employees and supervisors. 
  • Professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality in a dynamic environment.
  • Valid driver’s license. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proactive mindset toward workplace safety and environmental stewardship. 
  • Ability to remain calm and effective during incidents or emergency situations. 
  • Curiosity and commitment to continuous learning and safety improvement. 
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, or operational environments. 
  • Exposure to facility startups, expansions, or operational ramp-ups. 
  • Knowledge or experience with ergonomics or workplace injury prevention.
