Marketing Specialist – Commercial Lines

Description

The Marketing Specialist markets both new and renewal business by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with Account Managers and Producers to determine client quoting needs.
  • Works with multiple insurance companies to obtain quotes for various lines of business.
  • Submits detailed client information into the database to obtain accurate rates.
  • Reviews quotes for endorsements, exclusions, and subjectivities.
  • Reviews firm quotes for accuracy before sharing with the producer or client.
  • Generates proposals for clients.
  • Binds coverage once sold.
  • Explains proposal information to the Account Manager and/or Producer, including carrier specifics related to the client’s overall needs.
  • Works with carrier marketing representatives and underwriters to learn and understand appetite, new products, and latest offerings.
  • Schedules and/or participates in periodic meetings with marketing representatives to stay informed on products being offered.
  • Participates in webinars and learning opportunities related to system updates or product changes.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–4 years of independent agency experience in commercial lines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong time management skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Professional self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks with minimal guidance.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
