Description
The Marketing Specialist markets both new and renewal business by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Works with Account Managers and Producers to determine client quoting needs.
- Works with multiple insurance companies to obtain quotes for various lines of business.
- Submits detailed client information into the database to obtain accurate rates.
- Reviews quotes for endorsements, exclusions, and subjectivities.
- Reviews firm quotes for accuracy before sharing with the producer or client.
- Generates proposals for clients.
- Binds coverage once sold.
- Explains proposal information to the Account Manager and/or Producer, including carrier specifics related to the client’s overall needs.
- Works with carrier marketing representatives and underwriters to learn and understand appetite, new products, and latest offerings.
- Schedules and/or participates in periodic meetings with marketing representatives to stay informed on products being offered.
- Participates in webinars and learning opportunities related to system updates or product changes.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–4 years of independent agency experience in commercial lines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong time management skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Professional self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks with minimal guidance.
- Deadline and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
