Description

Purpose

As a BI Analyst Intern you will support the Data Solutions BI department by analyzing and standardizing report metrics to improve consistency, reduce duplication, and strengthen the organization’s reporting framework.


Responsibilities 

You will assist the Data Solutions BI team in a variety of Business Intelligence functions, such as:

  • Inventory and catalog metrics across existing reports.
  • Document metric definitions, calculation logic, and associated data sources.
  • Identify duplicate, inconsistent, or conflicting metric definitions across reports.
  • Partner with Data Solutions and business stakeholders to validate calculations and business meaning.
  • Contribute to the creation of a centralized metric repository to support Self-Service BI.
  • Provide recommendations for the standardization and simplification of reporting assets.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be a critical thinker and a problem solver. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • P&C Insurance industry knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple channels and asynchronously in a remote-first working environment.

Requirements

  • Student must be enrolled in an accredited university working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Services, Data Analytics, or a related degree. 
  • Ability to work in a fully remote working environment free from distractions and access to stable and reliable internet services. 

Employment Conditions

  • The intern will be expected to work full-time at 37.5 hours/week over the summer, with the potential for part-time work continuing during the school year. 
  • This internship is classified as a temporary, part-time position. 
  • This internship is compensated as a non-exempt, hourly position. 
  • This internship position is fully remote. 
Salary Description
$20/hr
