Athletics is an integral part of Cole Valley’s vision of developing the whole person to impact the world for Jesus Christ. We believe that God uses athletics to teach us spiritual truths. There are many biblical lessons and discipleship opportunities available as we strive to reach our fullest potential athletically. We are looking for a Varsity Head Coach for our Cheer program who has strong leadership skills and a heart for discipleship.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Program Head of CVCS Cheerleading, establishing philosophies and continuity throughout all levels of the program.
- Develop, mentor, and disciple both athletes and assistant coaches on the team.
- Clearly communicate the program's philosophies and vision to parents, students, and the extended school community.
- Build strong relationships with students, helping them grow in their relationship with Christ through your example and guidance.
- Coordinate and lead all cheer activities during games and other school events.
- Organize and conduct regular practice sessions to improve skills, enhance team unity, and foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Establish effective communication channels with parents and cheerleaders regarding schedules, logistics, and other relevant information.
- Oversee off-season activities, such as cheer camps and other training opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director to ensure transportation, facilities, equipment, and safety requirements are met.
- Work with Athletic Director in organizing proper inventorying, check-out, and check-in of team uniforms.
- Develop the skillsets of CVCS athletes and equip them for success.
- A testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
- Desire to invest in and disciple students in their relationship with the Lord.
- Be spiritually mature with demonstrated leadership experience.
- Coaching experience in cheerleading, either at the high school or collegiate level.
- Youth discipleship experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- An understanding of the physical and technical aspects of cheerleading.
- Certification in cheerleading safety and/or coaching preferred.
Job Data:
- Hours: Approximately 12-16 hours per week during the cheerleading season. Football and basketball seasons from August to March. Off-season hours will vary.
- Salary: $7,800
- Tuition Discount: 25% for enrolled students.
- Starting date: Season begins August 10, 2026. Tryouts are in May 2026. Summer 2026 workouts will need to be defined.
