Pay Rate:

  •  Our compensation is competitive within the market. The starting rate for this position begins at $20.00 per hour, with your final offer based on a combination of your education, relevant experience, and overall qualifications. 


Position Summary:
Behavioral Health Allies (BHA) is seeking reliable, safety-focused Drivers to provide safe and supportive transportation for clients, staff, and materials across programs and community locations. In this role, you will serve as a front-line representative of the organization, ensuring every passenger experiences professionalism, dignity, and care during transport. Drivers are responsible for maintaining safe vehicle operation, following all transportation protocols, and supporting a structured, calm, and respectful environment throughout every trip. This role is grounded in safety, consistency, and compassionate service, ensuring clients are transported securely and on time to appointments, activities, and program locations.


What You’ll Do:

• Provide safe, timely, and courteous transportation for clients, staff, and program materials
• Assist passengers entering and exiting vehicles, including those using mobility equipment
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any safety or maintenance concerns
• Maintain accurate driving logs, mileage records, and incident documentation
• Ensure vehicles remain clean, safe, and properly maintained at all times
• Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and organizational transportation policies
• Support clients during transport using patience, professionalism, and trauma-informed awareness
• Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive client information at all times
• Transport individuals to appointments, community activities, and program sites as scheduled
• Respond calmly and appropriately to unexpected situations or behavioral escalations during transport
• Collaborate with program staff and supervisors to coordinate transportation needs and schedules
• Participate in required trainings, meetings, and ongoing development
• Represent BHA positively in the community as a professional and trustworthy ambassador
• Complete required reports, documentation, and timekeeping accurately and on time


What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid Missouri Class “E” license with “S” endorsement (or equivalent out-of-state license) required
• Clean driving record and ability to maintain eligibility under company insurance
• Minimum 2 years of professional driving or transportation experience preferred
• Experience transporting individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or medical conditions preferred
• Strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and confidentiality
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure or unpredictable situations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail in documentation, vehicle checks, and passenger safety
• Knowledge of defensive driving practices preferred
• Training in crisis de-escalation or passenger support preferred
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and required evaluations
• Willingness to complete required medical and fitness-for-duty evaluations when applicable
