Events and Member Activities Manager in Training

Have you ever attended a private club event and wondered what it takes to make the magic happen? MPCC is proud to offer a robust Manager in Training program to college graduates looking for the training and guidance necessary to progress in the industry of event planning. While there will be a heavy focus on events and member activities, our MITs also get to rotate through various other departments and master food & beverage service operations as an opportunity to better prepare them for their career path. This position is available from May 2026 – April 2027 and should expect to work 35-40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Applications without evening/weekend availability will not be considered.  *While AI can be a helpful tool, MPCC highly values authentic and original responses. Job training includes:

  •  Rotate through all club departments including golf, racquets, wellness, maintenance, culinary, and more to develop comprehensive club-wide knowledge.
  • Training and service in food and beverage outlets including pool, casual dining, formal dining, bar areas, and banquet operations. 
  • Support a full calendar of member events including holidays, social gatherings, golf and racquets tournaments, and more.
  • Assist with planning of private events including weddings, baby and bridal showers, cocktail and dinner parties, celebrations, meetings, and more.  
  • Work with youth department on various tasks, programming, and operations as it related to summer swim team and summer camp programming and operations. 
  • Utilize Jonas Encore to keep all BEOs accurate and communicate event information both internally and externally.
  • Supervise events from a banquet management perspective: verifying rooms are ready, greeting, and supervising the team.
Requirements
  • Recent graduate, or graduating senior, from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in hospitality business management.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.
  • Prior hospitality or food & beverage experience preferred.
  • Professional, positive, and friendly attitude
  • Curious, flexible, willing to learn
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Position will require long periods of standing and walking. The employee should be able to lift, move, and/or carry up to 15 pounds, as well as carry out various functions that may require pushing, pulling, kneeling, and reaching.
