Kinsley is seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to join our engineering team and gain hands-on experience supporting the planning, engineering, and delivery of distributed energy and power generation solutions.
This internship provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects involving power generation systems, microgrids, battery energy storage (BESS), and distributed energy technologies.
The Engineering Intern will assist with technical analysis, project documentation, system design support, and field coordination while developing practical engineering skills in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates must reside within a commutable distance to our headquarters in East Granby, CT, as this role requires regular in-office collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist engineering teams with project planning, design support, and technical documentation
- Support the preparation of engineering drawings, system layouts, and technical specifications
- Participate in feasibility studies, site assessments, and engineering calculations
- Assist with analysis and reporting related to power systems, distributed generation, or microgrid projects
- Support project managers and engineers with coordination of internal resources and external partners
- Review technical documentation, equipment specifications, and engineering reports
- Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving activities related to system performance and reliability
- Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and engineering discussions
- Provide general engineering and administrative support as needed
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related engineering field
- Strong interest in power systems, distributed energy, battery storage, or renewable energy technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
