Description

URM Stores, Inc. is looking for a talented Retail Merchandiser Team Lead to join our ever-growing team. Our Retail Merchandising Team Lead is responsible for providing Member-Owner retailers with assistance with proper planning and product placement of new and existing items at their store locations.


The Retail Merchandising Team Lead will supervise four to six full-time Retail Merchandisers in URM’s market area. This position oversees the day-to-day activities, including leading team meetings, providing guidance, and mentoring. This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable municipal, state, and federal laws. 


Responsibilities include safety promotion/training, interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate pre-visits with Member-Owner retailers for planning/scheduling of projects.
  • Coordinate with Member-Owner retailers in designated geographic areas when their store will be visited on a monthly or quarterly basis by Retail Merchandisers.
  • Participate in the monthly sales meeting providing information as directed from the Retail Merchandising Manager.
  • Visit Member-Owner retailers prior to Retail Merchandiser visits to discuss what new products will be accepted and to outline any objectives that need to be accomplished during the Retail Merchandisers visit.
  • Ensure proper training of all Retail Merchandisers assigned to geographic area team, including proper product placement, use of merchandising tools provided.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Some overnight travel is required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to be flexible and making self-available to respond to changing customer needs to prevent unnecessary delays in service.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with all parties involved with our business.
  • Ability to take the initiative on tasks, prioritize multiple competing assignments and proven ability to manage and meet deadlines.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness and ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Reliable transportation.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting/Finance, or another related field and/or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years Retail Grocery/General Merchandising experience
