2-year-old Lead Teacher:

The Lead Teacher for the 2-year-old classroom guides and nurtures young children in a structured, loving, and faith-centered environment. Responsibilities include planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum, supporting social and emotional development, and integrating Christian values into daily activities. The Lead Teacher fosters a supportive and encouraging classroom where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to explore and grow. We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated educator who thrives in creating a positive early learning experience. 


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Develop and implement a daily curriculum that supports spiritual, emotional, social, and cognitive development for 2-year-olds. 
  • Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, including music, movement, sensory play, story time, and creative arts. 
  • Foster a Christ-centered environment through daily devotionals, prayer, and bible stories adapted for 2-year-olds. 
  • Observe, assess, and document each child’s progress, sharing insights with families and staff. 
  • Provide guidance, supervision, and mentorship to assistant teachers and classroom volunteers. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment in compliance with health and safety regulations. 
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, encouraging family involvement in the classroom. 
  • Collaborate with the preschool team to plan events and special activities. 
  • Change diapers regularly and assist in potty training. 


Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 12 core Early Childhood Education (ECE) units required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in an early childhood setting. 
  • Strong understanding of developmental milestones for 2-year-olds. 
  • Experience integrating Christian principles into teaching and classroom routines. 
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). 
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs and perform physical tasks, including sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, standing, and walking for extended periods. 
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English clearly. 
  • Current physical examination and TB clearance. Proof of immunizations: DTaP and MMR (Influenza vaccination or waiver acceptable). 
  • Must complete Live Scan fingerprinting and receive criminal clearance through the Department of Social Services (Guardian system). 
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. 
  • Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic about teaching young children.
